Mr. Balasaheb Gahininath Garkal is a farmer with a decent educational background. He has been practically maintaining the capital investment and water requirements low for last 16 years. He takes the cotton (Mahiko jangi) crop on 2- 2.5 acres of his land.
He has been facing a few issues like larvae on flowers and sucking pests in his field. It was hampering the production. On an average, he used to get about 5.5 quintal cotton from 1 acre land. Deducting the expenditure, he used to get a net profit of about Rs. 8000 to Rs 9000 from the same. However, the market rate was affected by the poor-quality crop and so were his net profits.

Mr. Garkal started using Biofit products during his last season of kharif crops. He sprayed Biofit Stimrich and Bio-99 for 4 times during the main stages of the plant growth. Hence, his plants growth was healthier and faster compared to last year’s growth. Also, he observed that maximum flowers successfully went through the budding and flowering stages. He sprayed Biofit Intact, Bio-99 for 3 times to prevent the sucking pests.
Comparison between Previous cotton crop and Biofit cotton crop-
Previous cotton crop:
  • Cost per 1 acre: Rs. 21,500
  • Average yield: 5.5 quintal
  • The Selling Rate: Rs. 5,500/ per quintal
  • Total production: Rs. 30,250
  • Net Profits per acre: Rs 8,750
Biofit cotton crop:
  • Cost per 1 acre: Rs. 26,500
  • Average yield: 8.5 quintals
  • The Selling Rate: Rs. 6,500/ per quintal
  • Total Production: Rs. 55,250
  • Net Profits per acre: Rs 28,750
As a result, compared to his neighboring farms, Mr. Garkal’s farm was least affected by the larvae and sucking pests. It also helped to increase the quality of the crop and gradually increased the yield. He started getting 8.5 quintal cotton crop from 1 acre land and with about Rs. 6500 market rate per quintal.
