Mr. Rajkumar Wagh is a budding and experimental farmer. As a supplementary business to farming, he started a poultry business 5 years ago.

For poultry farming, he did a well-equipped set-up of sheds for about 10,000 hens. He has broiler types of hens. Mr. Wagh takes 5 to 6 batches a year.

In poultry farming, Mr. Wagh has to be vigilant always. He needs to work very hard to keep an eye on the sudden changes in the environment, its effect on the birds, the market price, the vaccination of the birds and their time-to-time feeding.
Still, the death of a few birds is recorded in every broiler batch. According to the market price, he needed around 45 to 46 days to make the birds healthy.

In the previous batch, Mr. Wagh introduced Netsurf company's Biofit CFC plus along with a daily diet for the broiler birds. When the broiler birds were around 1 to 8 days old, a diet and vaccination schedule was made as per medical advice. Within a few days, he noticed that the health, development and weight of the birds improved as per requirement.
Differences between former Poultry farming and Biofit CFC Poultry farming
Poultry farming in the past:
  • Production cost: Rs.2,80,000
  • Bird Mortality / batch: 9% to 10%
  • Average weight / bird: 2.1 kg
  • Savings in food: None
  • Total Benefit: Rs. 43,000
Biofit CFC Poultry farming:
  • Production cost: Rs.2,76,000
  • Bird Mortality / batch: 4% to 5%
  • Average weight / bird: 2.25 kg
  • Savings in food: Rs.19,000
  • Total Benefit: Rs.73,000
Biofit CFC plus proved beneficial for these 9,000 broiler birds in many ways.

The mortality rate of broiler chicks was decreased. The digestion of the birds improved. An increase in the bird's food conversion rate increased their weight too. Their immune system was also enhanced. As a result, the batch of 45 to 46 days gained the expected weight on the 42nd day as per the market and this also saved the cost of the last 3-4 days.
