Yogesh Rokade is a graduate, young farmer who grows onions every year during the Rabi season. The outbreak of diseases and pests hampered the growth of the crop which eventually produced onions of small size. As a result, he was receiving a low market price.

Mr. Rokade now planted onion crop (variety-Panchganga) using the bedding method on a 1-acre area at a spacing of 15-10 cm.

15 days after planting, he mixed Biofit NPK and Shet- 1 litre each with 200 litres of water and used it on a 1-acre area through flood irrigation. The above dose was given again at an interval of 30 days. Due to Biofit NPK and Biofit Shet, the absorption of nutrients available in the soil increased. The ground became porous. This became very useful for the growth of onions.

To control the sucking pests and diseases caused by them he sprayed Biofit Intact and Bio-99 3 times at an interval of 20 days. This controlled the spread of pests on the onion crop during the current Rabi season. This also reduced the cost of chemical pesticides.
Differences between previous onion crop and Biofit onion crop
The previous onion crop :
  • Production cost/acre: Rs.50,000
  • Average production/acre: 105 quintalsविं
  • Market rate/quintal: Rs.800 quintal
  • Total Production/acre: Rs.84,000
  • Net profit/acre: Rs.34,000
Biofit onion crop :
  • Production cost/acre: Rs. 55,000
  • Average production/acre: 130 quintals
  • Market rate/quintal: Rs.900 quintal
  • Total Production/acre: Rs.1,17,000
  • Net profit/acre: Rs.62,000
He even sprayed Biofit Steamrich and Bio-99 4 times at an interval of 20 days during the major growth stages of the onion crop to increase its yield and accelerate the growth. As a result, in the current year, he experienced a 20-25% increase in production along with a good market rate.
