Due to his fondness for farming, Dr. Ganesh Shrirang Pote, a medical graduate practices farm business. Unlike the traditional way of farming, he focuses to engage in business-oriented farming.

Every year he cultivates 10-11 quintals of soybean per acre. While harvesting the crop he mainly had to deal with insects like leaf-eating larvae, legume poaching larvae etc. and diseases like Leaf rust.

In the current Kharif season, Dr. Pote sowed soybean (variety Greengold 3344) seeds with token method on 2 acres of land. After the germination of the soybean, he sprayed Biofit Steamrich and Bio-99 4 times in the main stages of growth. As a result, there was a favorable growth of the crop, its shoots increased, the flowering boosted, the falling of the flowers decreased and the soybean pods filled well.

At an interval of 15 days, the soybean crop was also sprayed with Biofit Rap as a precautionary measure against Leaf rust and other bacterial diseases. Due to this, the spread of disease was controlled on his soybean crop compared to other farmers.
Differences between previous soybean crop and Biofit soybean crop
Previous soybean crop :
  • Production cost/acre: Rs.23,000
  • Average production/acre: 11 quintals
  • Market rate/quintal: Rs.3500 quintals
  • Total Production/acre: Rs.38,500
  • Net profit/acre: Rs.15,500
Biofit soybean crop :
  • Production cost/acre: Rs. 28,000
  • Average production/acre: 14 quintals
  • Market rate/quintal: Rs.5800 quintals
  • Total production/acre: Rs.81,200
  • Net profit/acre: Rs.53,200
Dr. Pote witnessed a drastic change in the current Kharif season's soybean crop. In the current year, he yielded 14 quintals per acre of soybean. As he provided a nutritious environment, he received excellent grading for the goods. Also, as there was a low inflow of soybean in the market, he received a good market rate too.
